"Zanaa means illuminate the source, the source being Africa, where we have an abundance of beautiful materials, an abundance of amazing craftsmanship," says Lwanga. "We are losing a lot of our heritage, our culture and our artisans, in a sense, are kind of losing hope," she adds. "So we are trying to get that artisanal craftmanship and keep it." Alongside the cow horn, Lwanga sources other traditional materials for her designs, such as imported leather from Ethiopia and beads from South Africa. Yet doing business from Kampala has not been without problems. "I would say timeliness is the biggest challenge," says Lwanga. "Trying to get your products to market in a short space of time and be competitive." Regional trade Uganda, often described as the "pearl of Africa," is one of the continent's most beautiful nations.
Source: http://edition.cnn.com/2013/09/06/business/designer-takes-bull-by-horns/index.html

Because our family deals with chronic pain and inflammation, I contacted the gal recommended to me, and explained our needs to her before we purchased any product. I was told that the amber is effective for our pain and I was given several options on different natural, genuine, raw Baltic amber, in a variety of colors. The customer service was excellent as was the buying process. The gal is a mom who uses amber jewelry on her own baby and reports a noticeable difference in her teething baby using the amber. She also related several testimonies of older kids, teens and adults who have benefited by the ambers healing properties.
Source: http://www.examiner.com/review/amber-jewelry-for-pain
